 Loft Cap 274x162mm F Capped Approved

• Loft caps are the next generation of fire hoods.
• As well as providing fire protection by converting ordinary downlights into fire rated ones. Loft caps reduce heat loss which occurs when heat escapes through the downlight.
• The energy saved in heating is estimated at £5.00 per year per loft cap.
• Approved to Building Regulations Part L, continuous loft insulation.
• Tested for 60 minute ceilings.
• Easy to install, no screws or drilling required.
• Loft caps are mainly used in ceilings were loft insulation is present. They act as a barrier between the insulation and the downlight to prevent fire.
• Unless downlights have the Capped F Approval (hardly any do as it is a new standard, including fire rated downlights) they should not come in direct contact with insulation as it can cause a fire hazard.
• Can be used with fire rated and none fire rated downlights.
• The F Capped Approval is an Internationally recognised standard and is also known as British Standards BSEN60598.1 and BSEN60598.2.2.
• Loft caps can be used with any type of downlight ( maximum 50W ) even none fire rated ones to provide the Capped F Approval.
• Dimensions: Upper diameter 224mm, lower diameter 274mm, external height 162mm, internal height 150mm. Wall thickness 10mm.
