Fire Rated GX53 Downlights c/w Lamp
Fire Rated GX53 Downlights
The main advantage of using GX53 downlights is that they have an extremely low profile design. They are currently the shallowest fire rated downlights we offer. Some have a mounting depth of just 32mm! This is the protruding version, were the lamp sticks out of the ceiling slightly. This can be somewhat unsightly but if you are truly stuck for space then this is a great solution, the flush version of this is 42mm, thid downlight is also available in an adjustable version which is great for vaulted or sloped ceilings. The downlight can be tilted to off-set the ceiling.
GX53 downlights are often the only solution for use in ceilings where space is limited. We can now offer and LED version of this downlight, simply select the 5W Megaman LED from the product options. This new GX53 LED produces 350 lumen and is more energy efficient than the 13W CFL. Both produce a similar light output as a 50-60W halogen. If you require a dimmable version of this then we can only currently offer this with the Megaman 9W GX53 lamp.
These downlights also carry the F Capped Approval, meaning you can cover them directly with thermal insulation. More information about the F Capped Approval can be found here but feel free to contact us for further information.
Some other advantages of these downlights are; they are supplied with Click flow connectors, these connectors help to speed up installation times and reduce the need for junction boxes. The downlight housings are robust and made from die cast aluminium, a design that is built to last. They can also be used to replace older downlights such as R63 or R80 as they have a wide cut out of 90mm for fixed or 98mm for the adjustable version.
Here is a drawing below of the fixed flush version (LE435) showing a shallow depth of just 52mm:
