Description
Icage fire rated bathroom downlights will house any GU10 or MR16 refector lamps, this includes halogen, CFL and LED. Each Icage is supplied with a GU10 and an MR16 lamp holder, simply dispose of the one you don't use. The lamp holder is variable in length which allows you to fit GU10 or MR16 lamps of all sizes. This includes halogens and deeper low energy lamps such as the 7W Philips Master LED. The Icage is a premium quality downlight and has an ultra slim bezel which is not as chunky as other downlights, helping it to blend into your ceiling unnoticeably. Because this downlight is universal (it will house any lamp) you can fit any lamp you want and have the option of changing it in the future. Ensure your installation is future proof, install the Icage.

Material: Die cast aluminium with ultra slim bezel.
Finish: Choose from six different finishes:
Brass, polished chrome, satin chrome, white, matt black and antique brass. Please choose from the product options.
Voltage: Optional, supplied with both mains voltage GU10 and MR16 low voltage lamp holders.
Wattage: Max 50W. Lamps must be ordered separately or added from the product options.
Lamps from the product options will be supplied in warm white with a 40 degree beam angle as standard.
Can be changed to cool white or daylight by typing your request in the other options box.
iCage downlights comply with Building Regulations; Part B (fire safety), Part C (moisture protection), Part E (acoustics).
They are also comply with Part L (energy efficiency) when fitted with a suitable low energy lamp.
Fire rated: Yes, fully fire rated downlight, tested to 30, 60 & 90 minute ceilings.
Twist lock operation for easy lamp replacement.
Large easy to wire terminal block that accepts 2x 1.5mm twin and earth cables.
IP Rating: IP65 suitable for bathrooms zones 1 & 2. Can be used directly above a shower.

Icage Technology
The unique patented design of the icage downlight allows the lamp inside to ventilate whilst also maintaining its fire rating. When you put a halogen inside a standard fire rated downlight you are cutting off its air supply. This is like putting a lamp inside an oven. Halogens in-particular get very hot can reach temperatures of 130°C, this is one of the main reasons they don't last long, they over heat. Compare this to the Icage were temperatures would only reach 85°C (considerably less with LEDs).
