Pros

Cons
  • Not suitable for dimming see Megaman BR1411d (11w only).
  • Won't fit in all downlights due to the physical size. Should use deeper low energy downlights.
  • Takes a few seconds to achieve full brightness which can be annoying particularly in bathrooms.
  • Costs about 5x as much as a halogen but lasts 5x longer.
  • Adds to the initial setup costs of a downlight installation.
