Aquarium lighting has traditionally been associated with fluorescent and halogen bulbs but that trend is soon fading away – why? Aquarium LED lighting. It is no secret that the LED option has come as a much needed relief due to the vast flexibility that the lighting comes with. Initially they can be above average price but anyone who has used them will tell you they are worth every penny.

To begin with they give off better lighting that your average fluorescent bulb, they are much much smaller and top it all off, you have a variety of installation and placement methods than any other bulb available. Here is where it get even more interesting, for all the DIY people out there, here is the easiest way to light up your fish tank with the option to get a bit original in your design.

First you will need to get yourself the new plug and play Seamar LED 24" 36pcs Aquarium light bar 40watt or you can opt for another size and wattage according to the size of you aquarium e.g. the Seamar LED 54" 72pcs Aquarium light bar 144watt if your aquarium is extra large. You will be wowed to know this piece of legendary light bar is less than an inch in thickness and comes alive with a white and blue bridgelux LED chip to a 40 watt power output. It does not heat so no need for a chiller and with the extendable bracket that you can use to place the light just above the tank, how much more easier can it get. As I said it is a plug and play device and so all you have to do is get it some power and you are on.

Anyway, before switching the system on, you may have a little fun at this point with a creative and fun pattern for the lights. You can combine them in parallel or in tandem and see what makes even you light up. After you are satisfied with your work of art recheck everything. Give it a test run and see how cool the lights change even the ambiance in the room. I did it and am not giving up that tank anytime soon – or the lighting. Have fun doing it yourself out there.
