120 Degrees Brand Aurora Lighting CRI SpecificationsCRI stands for Colour Rendering Index. It is a measurement of how well a light source renders the true colour of an object compared with natural daylight.
Rated out of 100, with daylight scoring a perfect 100. Lights with 90 CRI and above are classed as being high CRI. Lights with 80 CRI are the industry standard.
80 Ra Cap Type Integrated LED Colour Temperature SpecificationsMost of the LED lights we offer are available in the big 3 colour temperatures which are:2700K - Extra warm white has a warmer tone, like a halogen, although not quite as orange.3000K - Warm white is a mid range colour tone. Not as orange as 2700K and not as harsh as 4000K. This is the most popular colour temperature.4000K - Cool white (or neutral white), although clearer and slightly brighter than the others, it can make a room feel cold and clinical. Used correctly in the right environment it can make a room appear more modern. If you're unsure about colour temperatures we have colour temperature adjustable downlights available. These downlights contain multiple colour temperatures that can be changed either by a dip switch, wall switch or App. More information about them can be found here.If you want a brighter light then choose something with more lumens. The brightness difference in colour temperatures is barely 5%.Dimensions Located Below Specifications Table Dimmable No Downlight Type SpecificationsRecessed downlights come in various types, including fixed, adjustable, and bathroom (IP65) models.
Fixed downlights direct light straight downward. Adjustable downlights let you change the light angle to highlight specific objects or areas.
IP65 downlights are water-resistant, making them suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2. Most integrated LED downlights are standardly IP65 rated, allowing them to be used in any room, including kitchens and living rooms.
Fixed GU10 downlights lack water resistance, typically having an IP20 rating. They have no sealing and are generally more affordable.
Fixed Finish SpecificationsChoosing the right finish or color for your downlights is crucial in achieving a harmonious interior design. For a cohesive aesthetic, consider coordinating the finish of your light fittings with that of your switches and sockets. Matt white remains the top choice for downlight finishes due to its universal appeal and it blends in with white ceilings.
Matt White Fire Rated SpecificationsFire-rated downlights are designed to preserve the fire resistance of ceilings by preventing fire spread through the cut-out spaces required for installing these recessed lighting fixtures.
No GTiN 5055155403577 IP Rating SpecificationsThis is the resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for the resistance to dust and the second digit is for moisture.
Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2.
An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance and is generally used outdoors.
An IP68 is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.

Mains voltage is 230V AC and has a tolerance of 10%, some products are 220V or 240V AC which means they can be classed as mains voltage.
DC voltages usually require an LED driver to convert the mains voltage AC into low voltage DC. Popular DC voltages are 12V or 24V DC.
230V AC Warranty SpecificationsThe minimum guarantee period of this product.
5 Years Wattage SpecificationsWattage is the unit used to measure the rate of energy transfer or power consumption in an electrical circuit or device.
Each of the downlights has the same height which is 20mm. The recommended recess depth is at least 40mm due to the height of the spring clips.

Product Questions & Answers
Hi,
I would like to order a number of the 6W Aurora Slim Fit Shallow LED Downlighters. I would however want to be able to dim these. It says in the description that these can be dimmed with the correct driver. Can you please suggest suitable drivers that that you sell and a compatible and dimmer switch?
Many thanks
Regards,
Graham CoxQuestion by: Graham Cox on 24 May 2022, 17:31Here is a link to the dimmable LED drivers:

For the 6W downlight, select the 6W driver. You need one dimmable driver per downlight.
The Varilight V-Pro is an LED compatible dimmer switch that works with these:
https://www.downlightsdirect.co.uk/varilight-v-pro.html
It will dim up to 120W and a maximum of 10 lights.
We also have higher wattage versions:

You could use an insulation cover cap like this:

Depending on which size of downlight you're interested in., or choose from one of our dedicated insulation coverable downlights:

It is the dimmable version of that downlight. The hole size is the same at 170mm and the lumen output is also the same.
Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 2 Apr 2023, 07:59Do these downlights have a driver or do you have to buy the driver separately ?
Thanks
Question by: Ed on 17 Aug 2023, 06:58They're supplied with an LED driver. You only need an additional driver if you want to be able to dim them as the driver they're supplied with is non dimmable.
No additional items required. They operate on mains voltage.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 17 Aug 2023, 07:20 -
