Leading edge dimmer switches from the early days of LED lighting didn't always work very well.
The Varilight V-Pro certainly works and is available in plate or module formats:

The reason why these are LED compatible as that they can be programmed to meet the demands of the LEDs on the circuit. 1. How many downlights your dimming per dimmer or zone - minimum and maximum load to consider
2. Which control system your using, even Lutron have about 4 different types

Circuit 1 has 5 downlights
Circuit 2 Has 3 downlights
