Features
JCC Lighting have redesigned the fire rated GU10 downlight and produced the FireGuard series. They've gone back to the drawing board, consulted with installers and end users to create a new and advanced type of GU10 downlight.
The JCC FireGuard is a combination of the best features of an integrated downlight with the benifts of a replaceable GU10 cap type. Fitted with a proper, press-fit wiring connector to speed up installation times, it has a tapered can design for a smoother ceiling entry.
The twist-lock bezels have a slim, modern appearance that look and feel more like an integrated LED downlight rather than a GU10. Detachable bezels make installations easier as you simply detach them when you're ready to paint your ceiling.
They're fire rated, insulation coverable and I-Joist certified.

Specifications & Dimensions
Specifications Brand JCC Lighting Cap Type GU10 Dimensions Located Below Specifications Table Double Insulated No Downlight Type SpecificationsRecessed downlights come in various types, including fixed, adjustable, and bathroom (IP65) models.
Fixed downlights direct light straight downward. Adjustable downlights let you change the light angle to highlight specific objects or areas.
IP65 downlights are water-resistant, making them suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2. Most integrated LED downlights are standardly IP65 rated, allowing them to be used in any room, including kitchens and living rooms.
Fixed GU10 downlights lack water resistance, typically having an IP20 rating. They have no sealing and are generally more affordable.
Finish SpecificationsChoosing the right finish or color for your downlights is crucial in achieving a harmonious interior design. For a cohesive aesthetic, consider coordinating the finish of your light fittings with that of your switches and sockets. Matt white remains the top choice for downlight finishes due to its universal appeal and it blends in with white ceilings.
Fire Rated SpecificationsFire-rated downlights are designed to preserve the fire resistance of ceilings by preventing fire spread through the cut-out spaces required for installing these recessed lighting fixtures.
Yes IP Rating SpecificationsThis is the resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for the resistance to dust and the second digit is for moisture.
Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2.
An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance and is generally used outdoors.
An IP68 is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.

Or the Philips 4.9W with a 36 degree beam and high CRI:

Are you able to check before I place an order please?Question by: Greg on 14 Jul 2022, 02:59We don't stock the Philips Hue GU10 bulb. You could either send us one and we'll double check, or order a sample and check it yourself.
Physically, it will fit, but the Philips Hue has slightly rounded front which has caused issues with other downlights like the Integral EvoFire because that has a totally flat bezel, but the JCC FireGuard doesn't and has more space.
It should fit fine.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 14 Jul 2022, 09:20Hi. I want to swap out some existing fittings that let a draught through. Would it be better to go for a bathroom rated light to minimise draught or would the standard one be ok?Question by: Roger on 1 Jan 2023, 17:51Very good question. There are no official recommendations for this but the IP65 bathroom version will offer a slightly more draft resistant option. The difference will be minimal but the cost is only slightly higher.
If you're covering them with thermal insulation, they won't pull in the warm air from the room below.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 2 Jan 2023, 10:05Do you know what the maximum bulb depth is with these? Looking to install with Mi-light Led'sQuestion by: Alex hogg on 27 Mar 2023, 19:05These will accept lamps up to around 57mm deep.Answer by: Mathew Smith (Admin) on 28 Mar 2023, 08:08 -
