Constant voltage LED drivers that are predominately used for powering LED strip tape. Provides the constant 12V or 24V DC supply that LED tape needs to operate at optimal thermal and brightness levels. Available in various frame sizes and IP ratings.

To determine the size of constant voltage LED driver you need for your LED strip tape installation, do the following:

  • Multiply the total length of LED tape by its wattage per metre
  • Determine whether the LED tape is 12V or 24V
  • Select an LED driver that's capable of carrying the full load

For example 5 metres of 14.4W LED tape, equals 72W. If its a 12V LED tape, you'll need a 12V LED driver. Then you can choose between dimmable and non dimmable versions. For RGB colour changing strips, you need a non dimmable version as the dimming is done on the controller along with the colour changing.

If you're powering a particularly low wattage LED, we have the ELED-15 which is rated at 15W but has a minimum load of 0.75W and is dimmable. This is a great choice of LED driver for those tricky low loads.

Constant voltage LED drivers are regulalry used with LED tape and have a constant, regulated voltage.

Specifications

Constant voltage LED drivers have a 12V or 24V DC output voltage. They are mainly used to power LED tape and smaller LED light fittings.

Constant current LED drivers have a 350mA or 700mA output. They are used to power more specialised LED fittings that require a precise current.

Many other output voltages and currents are avaialble but these are the most popular examples.

Specifications

This is the resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for the resistance to dust and the second digit is for moisture.

Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2.

An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance and is generally used outdoors. 

An IP68 is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.
