LEDs are changing fast, with energy consumption (wattage) reducing and light output (lumens) increasing, this allows us the honor of introducing the UK's first A++ energy efficient GU10 LED. The Philips Master Value 4.3W which is a direct replacement for the 5.3W version. With a 1W reduction in energy it maintains it's bright light output as a 50W equivalent, producing up to 390 lumens.
The Philips Master Value GU10 is a cost effective version of the once market leading 5.5W MasterLED range that is ideally suited to the domestic market as it is affordable, reliable and bright. While still providing a low energy alternative to a 50W halogen. The new 4.3W version has an improved life expectancy of 35,000 hours and comes with a 3 year guarantee. At 3 hours per day usage it is designed to last for 32 years.
As with the 5.4W version it is a perfect fit lamp, meaning it will fit perfectly inside any downlight housing where a halogen has been installed. It is available in the three main colour temperatures of 2700K, 3000K and 4000K and is dimmable as standard. As it is a Philips branded product you can be assured that you are purchasing a high quality product that is far superior to cheap unbranded alternatives.
Q) Which colour temperature is best?
A) Choosing the right colour temperature is like choosing the right wall paper or colour of paint, it's a matter of taste. The 2700K version is known as extra warm white and is more orange in appearance. It is the closest match to a halogen or incandescent light bulb. Although a 2700K LED may appear slightly whiter than a halogen as they are different lighting technologies.
Warm white 3000K has become the 'new norm' for colour temperatures and is by far our most popular seller. It is clearer and slightly brighter than 2700K but doesn't feel as clinical as 4000K.
Cool white 4000K produces an ultra white appearance, it can make a room appear more modern but colder. Cool white is used predominantly throughout super markets and commercial premises, it is popular for use in bathrooms and unpopular in lounges and bedrooms.
I purchased these for colour, dim-able, and quality for cost. Time will tell if I made the correct decision
