GU10 downlights are deeper and bulkier as the LED lamp takes up lots of space making them unsuitable for rooms with shallow ceiling voids. Integrated LED downlights have a much low profile design making them the ideal solution for these tighter ceiling void applications.
The Ovia Nano downlight is just 50mm in depth and can fit into a ceiling void thickness of just 45mm! While still producing an abundant 450 lumen light output. If you're covering with insulation, the Ovia Nano requires an additional insulation cover cap which adds some additional depth.
Often, the main cause of the shallow ceiling epidemic is caused by thermal insulation which packs out the ceiling void. Fear not! The JCC V50 is both shallow, fire rated and insulation coverable, fitting into ceiling voids of just 48mm, with its impressive 600-650 lumen output.
Or some of our downlights such as the Aurora MPRO have a flip down driver design which ensures a compact design of just 47mm, while still being insulation coverable!
But what if even the most shallowest of downlights aren't suitable? Why not try surface mounted downlights instead? Surface downlights require no minimum recess depth as they mount directly onto the surface of a ceiling.
