Kinetic switches generate their own power from each press, sending a wireless signal to a receiver—so there’s no battery and no switch-wire. That means fast, flexible installation and the freedom to position a switch almost anywhere (walls, tiles, glass). The latest Forum Kinetic range is IP65 rated, making selected models suitable for bathrooms and other moisture-prone areas, while still looking neat with a standard UK faceplate footprint (86 × 86 × 15.8 mm).
A kinetic switch is a self-powered, wireless wall switch that converts the mechanical energy of a button press into a radio signal. That signal is received by a paired in-circuit receiver, which switches (and, with the right receiver, dims) your lighting. Forum’s Kinetic system offers an indoor range of up to ~25M and ~80M in open space. You can connect multiple switches to each receiver. With switching only or dimmable and Wi-Fi receivers that can provide smart control via an App or voice control (Amazon Alexa / Google Home).

CUL-44552 is a kinetic switch kit which contains CUL-40038 on/off receiver and CUL-42495/CUL-42499 white slimline switch with surround.
Forum’s IP65 kinetic switches offer protection against dust and water jets, making them suitable for bathroom zones where moisture resistance is required. Always follow local wiring regulations and check zone, IP and load compatibility when planning your installation. As the switches are waterproof and wire-free you can place them anywhere apart from inside the bath tub.
Q) How many Forum RF wireless receivers can be connected to a single 1-gang switch? A) You can pair up to 10 switches to 1 receiver, but not the other way round. Q) How do you pair two receivers separately to a 2-gang switch, as both switches currently turn one receiver on and off? A) You can’t pair two receivers to the same switch. The supported method is the reverse: multiple switches can be paired to one receiver (not multiple receivers to one switch).
Tip: For dimming, choose CUL-40040 and ensure your lamps/drivers are dimmable and compatible with RF dimming. For simple on/off circuits, use CUL-40038 (RF) or CUL-40039 (RF + app/voice). Further reading from page 10 in the Forum Lighting brochure:
