Are bulbs included with Astro lights?

It depends on the product. Many Astro fittings with integrated LEDs include the light source, while products using replaceable GU10, G9, E14 or E27 lamps normally require the bulb to be purchased separately. Check the individual product specification for the lamp cap, maximum wattage and whether a bulb is included.

What is an integrated LED Astro light?

An integrated LED fitting has the light source built into the product rather than using a conventional replaceable bulb. This allows Astro to create slimmer reading lights, compact downlights and other precisely engineered designs. Selected integrated LED products may require a separate compatible driver, so check what is included before ordering.

Are Astro lights dimmable?

Some Astro lights are dimmable, but not every model offers this function. Fittings using replaceable bulbs will normally depend on the bulb and dimmer being compatible. Integrated LED products may require a particular driver or dimming method. Always check the individual product details and use a compatible LED dimmer to help avoid flickering, buzzing or a restricted dimming range.

Which Astro lights are suitable for bathrooms?

Astro offers an extensive selection of bathroom wall lights, mirror lights, ceiling lights and downlights. Suitability depends on the product’s IP rating and its position within the bathroom. IP44 fittings provide protection against splashing water, while selected IP65 products offer increased water and dust protection. Always check the stated bathroom zones and have the fitting installed in accordance with the current wiring regulations.

Can Astro lights be used outdoors?

Only Astro products specifically designed and IP-rated for exterior use should be installed outdoors. The outdoor range includes wall lights, bollards, ground lights and exterior ceiling fittings in finishes and materials selected for outdoor conditions. Properties near the sea should consider products from the Astro Coastal collection, which contains fittings developed for more demanding coastal environments.

Are Astro downlights fire rated?

Selected Astro downlights are fire rated, including models from the Minima, Pinhole, Trimless and Ascoli ranges. The applicable fire rating can depend on the fitting, ceiling construction and joist type. Some products have been tested for 30, 60 and 90-minute ceiling constructions, but this should not be assumed for every Astro downlight. Review the individual specification and installation instructions before ordering.

What is the difference between fixed and adjustable Astro downlights?

A fixed downlight directs its beam vertically downwards and is generally used for evenly distributed room lighting. Do Astro reading lights include USB charging?

Selected Astro reading lights include USB-A, USB-C or combined USB-A and USB-C charging. Some bedside fittings also provide compatible wireless charging. USB-C is the more future-facing wired connection and will generally be the best choice for a new installation, although charging output varies between products. Check the port type and output specification before ordering.

Are shades included with Astro wall, table and floor lights?

Not always. Astro frequently sells the fitting and fabric shade separately so that different sizes, shapes, fabrics and colours can be combined. This provides more design flexibility, but it is important to check the compatible accessories listed on the product page. Do not assume that a shade shown in an in-situ photograph is included with the fitting.

Which finishes are available from Astro Lighting?

Available finishes vary by product and collection, but popular choices include matt black, matt white, bronze, matt gold, matt nickel, polished chrome and brushed brass. Astro also produces glass, plaster, ceramic, concrete and coastal-grade designs. Coordinating the finish with switches, sockets, handles and other fittings can help create a more consistent interior.

What happens if an Astro product is not in stock?

Many popular Astro products are held in stock for fast delivery. Other fittings can be sourced from Astro and will display an estimated lead time on the product page. Made-to-order products may have minimum quantities or longer production times. Check the availability information shown on the individual product or contact us before ordering for a time-sensitive project.

How long is the Astro Lighting warranty?

Astro generally provides a standard three-year warranty, subject to its warranty conditions and correct installation and use. Product-specific coverage can vary, so check the information shown on the individual listing and retain your proof of purchase. Installation should be completed by a suitably qualified person.
