Lightwave RF Gen2 Wi-Fi hub, known as the Link Plus enables control of Lightwave RF switches, sockets and other devices from the App. Lightwave RF is an affordable home automation system that provides scene control, time programs from a smart phone, table or computer. It gives you total control over your home from anywhere in the world.
The Link Plus plugs directly into a router using an ethernet cable which is provided. The Link Plus is a key component in a Lightwave Gen2 installation, although like with Gen1 equipment, Lightwave RF components can function on their own without a Wi-Fi hub. The Link Plus can also be used to control Gen1 equipment. As you're setting up the switches and sockets from the App you can select which generation you're installing between Gen1 and Gen2.
One of the key benefits of Lightwave RF Gen2 compared to Gen1 is that it has two communication. This means that the App always knows which devices have been activated or dis-activated. Unlike with Gen1 equipment were you could have manually switched a light switch off using the switch, the App would still think it was switched on as it wasn't used to do the switching.
Another benefit of Gen2 is that it works with Amazon Echo and Google assistant, allowing voice activated control, switching and dimming. Gen2 is also compatible with Apple HomeKit but can't control Gen1 products from Apple HomeKit.
