Philips Master Value 5.8W MR16 low voltage LED operates on AC voltages and can be used with existing transformers. This is the ideal low energy replacement for a 35W halogen as it is both the same physical size and also achieves a very similar lighting effect.
This is the newer version that is replacing the 5.5W Master Value LED. Even though it consumes less wattage, its actually 20% brighter and more energy efficient. The Philips Master value range of LEDs have proven to be highly popular due to their low cost, high lumen package and reliability.
Key Features
- Wattage: 5.8W
- Halogen Equivalent: 35W
- Voltage: Low voltage 12V requires an additional transformer. Compatible with most 230V > 12V AC transformers but we recommend using the Varilight YT range.
- Cap / Base: GU5.3
- Colour temperatures and lumens:
Extra warm white 2700K = 450 lms
Warm white 3000K = 460 lms
Cool white 4000K = 490 lms - Start up time: Instant
- Dimming: For loading purposes it should be classed as 35W. For example a 105W transformer will power 3 of these lamps or use one 50W or 60W transformer per light.
- Beam angles: 36 degrees
- Colour rendering index: 90 CRI
- Life expectancy: 25,000 hours

36 Degrees Brand Philips Lighting CRI SpecificationsCRI stands for Colour Rendering Index. It is a measurement of how well a light source renders the true colour of an object compared with natural daylight.
Rated out of 100, with daylight scoring a perfect 100. Lights with 90 CRI and above are classed as being high CRI. Lights with 80 CRI are the industry standard.
90 Ra Cap Type MR16 (GU5.3) Colour Temperature SpecificationsMost of the LED lights we offer are available in the big 3 colour temperatures which are:2700K - Extra warm white has a warmer tone, like a halogen, although not quite as orange.3000K - Warm white is a mid range colour tone. Not as orange as 2700K and not as harsh as 4000K. This is the most popular colour temperature.4000K - Cool white (or neutral white), although clearer and slightly brighter than the others, it can make a room feel cold and clinical. Used correctly in the right environment it can make a room appear more modern. If you're unsure about colour temperatures we have colour temperature adjustable downlights available. These downlights contain multiple colour temperatures that can be changed either by a dip switch, wall switch or App. More information about them can be found here.If you want a brighter light then choose something with more lumens. The brightness difference in colour temperatures is barely 5%.Dimensions Located Below Specifications Table Dimmable Yes Energy Rating F GTiN 8718696708231 Incandescent Equivalent 35 W Life Expectancy 25,000 Hours Lumens 450 Lumens Product Type LED MR16 Series Philips Master Value Sku 92900132**02 Voltage SpecificationsAC standards for alternating current and DC standards for direct current.
Mains voltage is 230V AC and has a tolerance of 10%, some products are 220V or 240V AC which means they can be classed as mains voltage.
DC voltages usually require an LED driver to convert the mains voltage AC into low voltage DC. Popular DC voltages are 12V or 24V DC.
