Smart Lighting Controls

There are multiple ways to control your lighting from your smart phone, here's a summary of each:

• Smart Switches - Some brands like Aurora, Collingwood and Lightwave require an additional Wi-Fi hub. Hubs cost more, although the Collingwood hub is very reasonably priced and doesn't add too much extra onto the project. Systems with Wi-Fi hubs usually provide more functionality. Once you've fitted a smart switch or smart receiver, you can convert an ordinary LED light into a smart one - it doesn't need a degree to be smart!
  
  
• Smart Bulbs - Brands like Crompton Lamps have smart LED bulbs that don't require a Wi-Fi hub. This provides a considerably cost effective solution.
  
  
• Remote Controlled Downlights - The Ricoman R3 and Centorio downlights are available with their own remote control. They don't operate via a smartphone but provide colour temperature adjusting and dimming without needing any hubs or receivers.
  
  
• Smart Downlights - The Crompton Spectrum really is smart, after graduating from university its now got a degree in colour temperature changing and has an RGB halo. Controlled by the Tuya App, you can now control it along with smart bulbs and LED tape from one place.
