Similar to our RGBWW LED tape the RGBW version has a section of cool white 4000K LED tape attached to the RGB. The combination of colour changing RGB (red, green, blue) and cool white allows you to mix a wider variety of colours. The 4000K chip also has a high CRI rating of 90CRI, which means it reproduces colours more accurately.
When you use basic RGB the white colour you get is made from a mixture of red, green and blue. This produces an off white lighting effect. RGB+W gives you a true 4000K cool white colour. Our range of RGBW tape is different to others on the market as it is a combination of 48 SMD5060 RGB LEDs per metre and 60 smaller SMD2835 cool white LEDs per metre, a total of 96 LEDs per metre. In comparison to others you only get 60 LEDs per metre which doesn't produce the same vivid, bright lighting effect.
Due to the higher amount of LEDs used this strip consumes 23 watts per metre. As it's a combination of two LED tapes it produces a larger array of colours and effects. With a self adhesive backing it is easy to install.
To get the best use out of this light strip we recommend using it with one our RGBW LED controllers, featuring the usual RGB buttons but also with a W button for the cool white functionality. Using a combination of these buttons allows you to mix the colours and enables you to create unique shades of oranges and pinks which aren't usually associated with RGB.
Another reason for using RGBW LED strip is that if you ever get bored of the reds and blues etc you can switch to a normal cool white at the touch of a button.
Easy to install and great colour output.
