Why Choose LED Lighting?

LED lighting is energy efficient and provides savings of around 90% when compared to halogen. LEDs are also longer lasting and better for the environment. Although the initial investment can seem expensive it pays for itself in energy saved, usually within a 1-2 year period.

LED lighting products include light bulbs, downlights, LED strip lights as well as an entire selection of commercial lighting products. Some light fittings now feature fully integrated LED light sources. These designs don't allow you to change the LED if it fails, but because the entire fitting is built around the LED they last longer and are usually brighter.

Overheating is the #1 cause of LED failure which was a major issue for GU10 LEDs being fitted into fire rated downlights during the very early days of the LED lighting revolution. This is because the old fire can style downlights had little or no way of ventilation the LED inside which caused it to overheat and fail, years before its predicted life expectancy.

Modern recessed downlights have ventilation holes which allows the LED to dissipate heat more effectively, allowing it to provide energy efficient light for many years.
