If the item is 'out of stock' we've either got more stock arriving or can source the product from our supplier. The item will be placed on back order and sent to you within a designated delivery time.

Dimmable refers to the ability to adjust a light's brightness to create the desired ambiance or save energy. Some LEDs lamps and downlights aren't dimmable. Dimmable LEDs require an LED compatible dimmer switch.

If you're replacing existing downlights, measure the existing hole sizes and ensure your new downlights will fit. 

We also have hole converter plates and concealer rings available for extra large holes.

CRI stands for Colour Rendering Index. It is a measurement of how well a light source renders the true colour of an object compared with natural daylight. 

Rated out of 100, with daylight scoring a perfect 100. Lights with 90 CRI and above are classed as being high CRI. Lights with 80 CRI are the industry standard.

Insulation coverable downlights are purpose-built fittings that feature an insulation cover cap or are designed with a structure that acts as a protective barrier.

These fittings enable thermal insulation to be placed directly over them, eliminating the need to cut around the insulation. This prevents heat loss through downlight openings, promoting better energy efficiency.

Recessed downlights come in various types, including fixed, adjustable, and bathroom (IP65) models.

Fixed downlights direct light straight downward. Adjustable downlights let you change the light angle to highlight specific objects or areas.

IP65 downlights are water-resistant, making them suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2. Most integrated LED downlights are standardly IP65 rated, allowing them to be used in any room, including kitchens and living rooms.

Fixed GU10 downlights lack water resistance, typically having an IP20 rating. They have no sealing and are generally more affordable.

Wattage is the unit used to measure the rate of energy transfer or power consumption in an electrical circuit or device.

Fire-rated downlights are designed to preserve the fire resistance of ceilings by preventing fire spread through the cut-out spaces required for installing these recessed lighting fixtures.

Choosing the right finish or color for your downlights is crucial in achieving a harmonious interior design. For a cohesive aesthetic, consider coordinating the finish of your light fittings with that of your switches and sockets. Matt white remains the top choice for downlight finishes due to its universal appeal and it blends in with white ceilings.

LED lighting color temperatures range from extra warm white (2700K), creating a cozy atmosphere, to daylight white (5000K-6500K), offering a bright, alert setting.

AC standards for alternating current and DC standards for direct current.

Mains voltage is 230V AC and has a tolerance of 10%, some products are 220V or 240V AC which means they can be classed as mains voltage.

DC voltages usually require an LED driver to convert the mains voltage AC into low voltage DC. Popular DC voltages are 12V or 24V DC.

This is the resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for the resistance to dust and the second digit is for moisture.

Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2.

An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance and is generally used outdoors. 

An IP68 is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.
