    This high performance product is brand new, with 120 LEDs per metre and an energy consumption of 18W per metre, it produces an impressive 1460 lumens per metre. Containing dedicated LED chips for each colour tone effect, that switches between each chip type as you adjust the brightness. No special controllers are required, as it works with an LED compatible dimmer switch and mains dimmable LED driver.

    Ideal for kitchen lighting as you get the best of both worlds; a bright lighting effect for cooking under that allows you to clearly see what you're chopping. As the night gets dark and you dim your lights, the ultra warm ambient lighting effect makes your environment look picturesque like the sunset setting in your own kitchen.

    With higher colour rendering, the Sunset Strip LED tape has a 90CRI rating which helps to reproduce colours more effectively and produces a superior quality of light.

    It is self adhesive and can be stuck to any surface, helping to make installations much easier. For an added effect it can be mounted inside an aluminium profile rail to diffuse the light to provide a dot-free, seamless lighting effect.

    How to Order?

    As this is a 24V dimmable LED tape; you're going to need a mains dimmable 24V LED driver and a dimmer switch. The size of the driver is dependent on the total length of LED tape (or tapes) that you're connecting. At 18W per metre, you could use a 25W driver to power up to 1.3 metres, or a 100W driver will power up to 5.5 metres. We also have bigger LED drivers available, up to 300W, see table below.

    Then to dim the strip, you'll need an LED compatible dimmer switch such as Varilight V-Pro or Hamilton LEDStat. Or if you want something more advanced, like a Smartphone dimming system, the Lightwave Smart Series dims it perfectly and allows you to set scenes that include any other lights on your system. You'll need a Lightwave Smart switch and Wi-Fi Hub. You can only use one LED driver per Lightwave gang.

    Most of the LED lights we offer are available in the big 3 colour temperatures which are:
     
    2700K - Extra warm white has a warmer tone, like a halogen, although not quite as orange.
     
    3000K - Warm white is a mid range colour tone. Not as orange as 2700K and not as harsh as 4000K. This is the most popular colour temperature.
     
    4000K - Cool white (or neutral white), although clearer and slightly brighter than the others, it can make a room feel cold and clinical. Used correctly in the right environment it can make a room appear more modern.
     
    If you're unsure about colour temperatures we have colour temperature adjustable downlights available. These downlights contain multiple colour temperatures that can be changed either by a dip switch, wall switch or App. More information about them can be found here.
     
    If you want a brighter light then choose something with more lumens. The brightness difference in colour temperatures is barely 5%.

    Dimmable refers to the ability to adjust a light's brightness to create the desired ambiance or save energy. Some LEDs lamps and downlights aren't dimmable. Dimmable LEDs require an LED compatible dimmer switch.

    This is the resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for the resistance to dust and the second digit is for moisture.

    Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2.

    An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance and is generally used outdoors. 

    An IP68 is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.

    Choose the specification that suits your project.

    LEDs Per Metre

    Modern LED tapes such as COB (Chip On-Board) have 480 LEDs per metre which produces a dot-free lighting effect as their is barely any gap between each LED.

    Older LED tapes with 30 or 60 LEDs per metre has much wider gaps between each LED which creates a dotting effect.

    For the best lighting effect we recommend COB LED tape.

    Wattage

    A higher wattage strip doesn't always = brighter light. The accurate way of judging LEDs on brightness is with their lumens. Our 4W LED tape is highly energy efficient and brighter than our 7.2W version.

    IP Ratings

    IP20 offers no resistance to water but is fine for use in kitchen cabinets.

    IP65 is water and dust resistant. It has a silicone glue coating that shields it from splashes and dust.

    IP68 is fully water and dust resistant, suitable for outdoor use or submersing in water.

    Voltage

    12V strips have shorter cut points than 24V allowing for a more accurate measurement. But 24V strips are better for longer runs over 5M.

    In general the 480 LEDs per metre COB tape, with an IP20 rating is ideal for the majority of applications.

    I've noticed the negative review and wanted to double check this actually works as it looks amazing?

    This particular customer purchased a basic Varilight dimmer switch from another company and didn't buy a Varilight V-Pro or proper LED compatible one. We tried to investigate but wasn't able to communicate fast enough which caused the customer to complain.

    It's a great product that just requires a dimmable LED driver and an LED compatible dimmer switch. Also works very well with Lightwave.

    It needs to be wired into a dimmable LED driver. The LED driver is then wired into an LED compatible dimmer switch.

    We are looking at the sunset strip for a pantry with 3 shelves, approx 2m in length each. Can these all go on the one driver together (and if so, how do you link the lights on the 3 shelves?)

Cut Off & Delivery Times

If your order is placed before 3PM Monday to Thursday and before 2PM on Friday it will usually leave on a next day delivery service. This is providing that all of the items are in stock, we have live stock data on each product on our website. If your order is particularly urgent please choose the next working day option or part shipment option were we ship the items we have in stock and send the rest when they arrive. These as a guaranteed delivery services, if your delivery doesn't arrive, we'll refund the delivery charge. We prioritise next day deliveries over standard orders and will contact you if any goes wrong with the order.

If we are out of stock of any items you will receive a notification by email. If the items are delayed by longer than a week then we will notify you of this. We can also arrange for direct shipments from some of our manufacturers, if we are out of stock and you need something urgently please contact us and we will offer the fastest delivery options.

Next day deliveries are classed as next working day and don't include weekends. We also offer Saturday AM and Saturday all day services which are available at the checkout for zone 0 addresses. A Sunday service is also available on request, or you can place a Saturday delivery and change the delivery date directly with DPD via their App after you receive your tracking information.

Returns & Cancellations

If you’re not satisfied with your goods and would like to return them, we will accept them back at the customer's expense.
