High Quality Kitchen Downlights
High quality, affordable kitchen downlights from the UK's leading supplier of branded LED lighting products. Recessed downlights are the perfect way to compliment the look of your kitchen. Providing a minimal appearance that produces bright lighting results all year round.
If you want to improve visibility in the all-important area of your home, modern kitchen downlights are the ideal solution. Perfect for enhancing your interior design’s best features while also helping to supply effective task lighting, they are a great way to ensure practicality and beauty in this essential family space.
Contemporary kitchen downlights are recessed into your ceiling to produce a bright and focused beam. Thanks to the latest cutting-edge technology, recessing lights are extremely durable, energy-efficient and long-lasting, so you can be sure that you’re doing your bit for the environment while also benefit from convenience. Even better, they can also be dimmed to adjust the brightness level in the space instantly. This makes them ideal for installation in any poorly lit areas of your kitchen.
Flexible Task Lighting
One of the greatest benefits of recessed kitchen downlights is their practical design. Since they take up minimal space they work well in homes with sloping or low ceilings, offering practical task lighting in areas where bright and clear light is essential. When installed under cabinets and benches in your kitchen, they can create wonderful lighting effects even in poorly lit areas.
Creating Mood Lighting
Since most modern kitchen lighting products can be dimmed it’s easy to adjust the brightness level that they produce easily and quickly. As a result, they can create wonderful ambient lighting that sets the mood in your kitchen space.
Low Energy Consumption
Another key reason for choosing kitchen LED downlights is their lower energy consumption when compared with traditional lighting options. Contemporary LED downlights use less electricity while also producing a high-quality clear light when compared to other kinds of bulbs like incandescent and halogen. LEDs are more efficient with the way they convert energy to light. They consume less heat while helping to protect the environment. This allows you to meet your eco-friendliness goals without compromising on brightness. Now you can get the best of both worlds while significantly significantly your energy bills.
Convenience
You won’t need to change your lightbulbs very often when you choose kitchen LED downlights. Thanks to the latest technology, the bulbs are capable of lasting for many years, saving you time and effort as well as money.
Integrated LED downlights have a fully built-in LED that is part of the fitting. This design provides optimal cooling results and increases the life span. Without doubt, overheating is the #1 cause of LED failure, keep your lights as cool as possible. If you don't like the idea of an integrated LED downlight because you can't change the bulb, we recommend trying to avoid using GU10 LED bulbs with traditional fire can style downlights and opt for a modern open rated design instead.
Do Kitchen Downlights Need to be Fire Rated?
Technically there is no such thing as a kitchen downlight as it doesn't have a specific criteria like a bathroom downlight. Kitchen downlights don't need to be IP rated, your main consideration is whether they should be fire rated and yes they should.
Fire rated downlights are required for domestic use as they restore your ceilings natural ability to protect itself from a fire. When you cut a hole into your ceiling to place the recessed downlight into, your weakening its main line of defence. A fire rated downlight restores the ceiling and will seal off the hole in the event of a fire.
What's the Best Kitchen Downlight?
Our personal favourite downlight for kitchens is the Integral EvoFire. They have a 1mm thin bezel which blends unnoticably into your ceiling and they meet all of the relevant Building Regulations. They come with a push-fit wiring connector and are insulation coverable.
The EvoFire shown above is available in a selection of finishes as well as fixed and adjustable versions. They also have versions for wider hole sizes and a miniature version which takes smaller MR11 GU10 LEDs.
Perfect For Open Plan And Designated Kitchen Spaces
Modern downlights are a flexible option for your kitchen space, whether it’s a standalone room or part of an open plan living area. Capable of removing any unsightly ceiling imperfections – something which is a common problem in order and renovated properties – they also offer a perfect lighting option for lower ceilings thanks to their flush fitting and minimalist design.
Kitchen downlights give you far more versatility when it comes to lighting separate parts of your space. Use them for task lighting over your island workbench, or highlight key features such as your glassware collection inside your cabinets. You can also use kitchen downlights as part of your overall lighting plan, combining them with spotlights and pendant lights for a stunning, unique and complete design that creates a host of wonderful effects. You can even combine your kitchen downlights with a dimmer switch so you can adjust the lighting level to suit every occasion.
